Officer Bob Boccasile has been a police officer with the Fresno Police Department for 27 years. During that time, Officer Boccasile has been assigned to the most elite tactical units within the department. This includes assignments to the Problem Oriented Tactical Team, Violent Crime Suppression Unit, Street Violence Tactical Team, Parole Apprehension Team, and served on the departments SWAT team for 12 years, with 8 years as a sniper. Officer Boccasile was previously assigned to the Training Unit for over four years but has recently been brought back to the team to assist with our demanding class load. Officer Boccasile is currently an instructor in our agencies pistol transition class every week, as our agency continues to transition nearly 800 sworn personnel to our new duty pistol; the Glock 45.
