DART is a hands-on, learner-centered course, focused on equipping officers with the tools to successfully detect and collect evidence of drug and alcohol related impaired driving, and to make  meaningful connections between the officer’s investigation and criminal prosecution. Students will participate in an alcohol correlation study (Wet Lab), familiarize themselves with the  standardized test procedures for determining drug and alcohol impairment, and the course culminates with a mock trial to hone the students’ courtroom skills.
