The purpose of this course is to train newly appointed sworn Field Training Officers (FTO).
The FTO’s will receive training on:
- Goals, objectives, expectations, functions and roles of the FTO
- Leadership
- Ethics
- Teaching and training skills development
- Competency in writing daily observation reports
- Intervention, remediation
- Test scenario development
- Legal and liability issues
- Case studies
- Mental health crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
- Driver safety/awareness
It’s highly recommended you bring a laptop, as digital materials are used for the class.
