Course Description: 
This course reviews the 80 hour basic police motorcycle school. It is designed to improve and update the riding skills of currently assigned motor officers, or officers returning to a motorcycle assignment. Information covered in the course includes cone patterns, braking, collision avoidance, street strategies, and more. All students must have successfully completed the 80 hour POST Basic Motorcycle School.


Equipment Required: Police motorcycle that meets all factory specifications.  A limited number of rentals are available for $47 per day on a first come first served basis.

Prerequisites: Possession of a valid driver’s license with motorcycle endorsement. Successful completion of POST Basic Motorcycle Course.


Attire: Department approved motorcycle patrol or training uniform, including approved boots, DOT approved motorcycle helmet, leather gloves (thin), and shatter-proof eyewear. Rain gear should be considered (seasonal).

Courses provided at the Fresno Police Department Regional Training Center (FPDRTC) are not open to the general public for enrollment unless otherwise noted. Attendance is restricted to law enforcement personnel only. The FPDRTC reserves the right to restrict or deny enrollment in any class to any individual.Courses may be cancelled due to low enrollment, or unforeseen circumstances, such as special operations or law enforcement emergencies.
